The Mission

 

The focus of my work here is the creation of a book titled "Building Hotels: From Site Selection to Grand Opening."

Many of us have a dream project in mind, but unfortunately, we often procrastinate. We push things for later, and those ideas never see the light of day. The story of this book is no different; it has been a long-standing dream that I am finally bringing to life.

I have decided to use this blog as the vehicle to develop the book part by part. By committing myself to sharing the content here as it is written, I am holding myself accountable to accomplish this dream.

The Objective

If I manage to write everything as I intend, these posts will eventually be refined into a practical guide that simplifies the development process for others in the industry. I plan to provide insights into every critical stage of the lifecycle, including:

  • Strategic Planning: Highest and Best Use, Development Briefs, and Feasibility Studies.

  • Execution: Detailed stages of Design and Construction.

  • Handover: The final transition to a living hospitality asset.

I will keep updating this section with new insights on my progress as the book takes shape. I invite you to stay with me on this journey, leave your feedback, and get involved as we move from site selection to the grand opening.

One of the most common pieces of furniture that we use in our everyday life is a Chair. How many times so we try and find out how this chair came into existence. Some of the most sought after chair design has been designed by famous architects. Usually we associate architect with building design and we always try and distinguish the interiors designed by architects with that designed by Interior designers. The Burj Khalifa Of Dubai

The most significant chapter in the Dubai story is the Burj. After writing on Dubai for so long I find a compulsion of saying a few words about this landmark. The few words are quite lengthy considering the subject is the tallest structure. This perhaps is the only claim that others will not be able to refute. The tallest man made structure of the world. Other claims about the largest Mall or the longest this or biggest that is subject which are regularly discussed and debated at the cocktail parties. But this one is a definitive statement and above everyone’s doubt!
