Professional Background

I am an Architect first, with a Bachelor of Architecture from India and a Chartered Construction Manager with a Master’s in Construction Management from the UK. In over three decades in the built environment, I have been frequently involved in the design and delivery of hospitality projects. This journey began after my graduation with my first ever project being a specialty restaurant project in a hotel in Cairo and has since taken me across India and the Middle East.

Experience and Perspective

While I have worked across various categories of projects, I have had the opportunity to be part of the hospitality projects from time to time, holding many different hats. My roles have been diverse, including serving as an Interior Designer, Project Architect, Design Manager, Project Manager, and Development Director.

Having worked from several vantage points—as a project architect within a Design Consultant, a design manager within a PMC, and a Development Director within an Owner’s organization—I have seen firsthand how projects succeed and where they falter. This blog is my effort to document the experience and knowledge I have garnered over the years into a book, which will serve as my legacy.

One of the most common pieces of furniture that we use in our everyday life is a Chair. How many times so we try and find out how this chair came into existence. Some of the most sought after chair design has been designed by famous architects. Usually we associate architect with building design and we always try and distinguish the interiors designed by architects with that designed by Interior designers. The Burj Khalifa Of Dubai

The most significant chapter in the Dubai story is the Burj. After writing on Dubai for so long I find a compulsion of saying a few words about this landmark. The few words are quite lengthy considering the subject is the tallest structure. This perhaps is the only claim that others will not be able to refute. The tallest man made structure of the world. Other claims about the largest Mall or the longest this or biggest that is subject which are regularly discussed and debated at the cocktail parties. But this one is a definitive statement and above everyone’s doubt!
